JACK O'BRIEN
(the older one)
Born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, Jack O’Brien began his artistic career as a performer, writer, and lyricist before transitioning to directing. He directed his first Broadway production in 1969 and has collected three Tonys since then (Henry IV, Hairspray and The Coast of Utopia). He’s done operas(Il Trittico, Great Scott, Porgy and Bess, etc.), musicals (The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Carousel, etc.), television (“American Playhouse,” “Great Performances,” etc.), ran the Old Globe Theater for 25 years, written two books published by Farrar Straus & Giroux (Jack Be Nimble and Jack in the Box), and two nightclub performances at 54 Below. He recently received a Lifetime Achievement Tony Award, but apparently he’s still working…
ALAN FOX
(the younger one)
Born and raised in Oak Ridge, North Carolina, Alan Fox was an all-state basketball player, set to play in college (UNC-Greensboro), before an injury led him into a life as a fashion model (Abercrombie Fitch, Adidas, Men’s Health), turned recording artist (now defunct Cartel Records), turned actor (Taylor Swift’s music video Fifteen, The English Teacher, and his one person show Expectations which premiered at the Cherry Lane Theater), turned graduate of Hunter College (Magna Cum Laude, 2016), turned playwright (Space Space, directed by Jack O’Brien, 2019), turned screenwriter (Highest 2 Lowest, directed by Spike Lee, staring Denzel Washington, 2025). Everyone tells him that he’s finally doing what he was always meant to be doing, and he tells them that men lie, women lie, but patterns don’t…

JASON MICHAEL BERMAN
(Producer)
​Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Jason Michael Berman is the President and Founder of A/Vantage Pictures. He established the production company in April 2025 after serving as the President of Mandalay Pictures for over a decade. Currently, A/Vantage Pictures is in post-production on two major projects: Highest 2 Lowest (directed by Spike Lee, starring Denzel Washington) and Rock Springs (written and directed by Vera Miao). Recently, Berman produced Air (directed by Ben Affleck, starring Matt Damon) and Surrounded (starring Letitia Wright). His previous credits include notable films such as Nine Days, Uncorked, Otherhood, Juanita, and The Birth of a Nation, which received both the Grand Jury and Audience Awards at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. Berman has been recognized in Variety’s Dealmakers Impact Report and was named one of Variety’s Top Ten Producers to Watch. He has served as an adjunct professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, played a pivotal role in launching the Sundance Institute Catalyst program, and served as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Producers Branch.

Paul Marra is a Filmmaker with a passion for storytelling and inspiring people through art. Born in rural New Jersey, he realized at an early age the power and beauty film has: it brings together the collective for a shared experience and a chance to escape the daily routine. With over a decade of experience both in front of and behind the camera, Paul has developed a well-rounded understanding of the craft. In pursuit of his creative vision, he founded 11K Films—a production company dedicated to creating bold, meaningful stories that resonate with audiences. Paul’s passion continues to evolve, and he’s more excited than ever to keep that creative spark alive.

Co-Director of the new play Red Days for Adjusted Realists at A.R.T/NY. Assistant Director for a new play reading at Williamstown Theater Festival. Production Assistant at The Roommate on Broadway with Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone, and Shucked on Broadway. Associate Director for Tom Stoppard’s The Hard Problem at Lincoln Center Theater. Founding Producing Member of Adjusted Realists - a storytelling collective.
